San Diego officials recently met with NFL officials in an effort to keep the Chargers in town. A prominent Oakland official has done the same thing, regarding the Raiders.
Via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com, NFL executive V.P. Eric Grubman said that Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf met earlier this month with Commissioner Roger Goodell. Like the first meeting between San Diego and the NFL, it was an introductory session.
“The Mayor outlined visions and goals at a general level,” Grubman told Bair via email. “No specific proposal was discussed. Roger encouraged dialogue, and he stressed that there was a need to have a specific and actionable plan put forward soon.
