NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent supports a rule change for kickoffs, per NFL.com's Judy Battista.
According to Battista, Vincent said there is "no question" there will be a proposal to change the current rules and format of kickoffs, saying that there needs to be something done after how last season's kickoffs went.
"We know we won't go back into what we saw last year, when it became a ceremonial play," Vincent said.
The current format lines the kicking team up at their 35-yard line with eight returning team members within 15 yards, prevents double-blocks and places touchbacks at the 25-yard line.
