The New Orleans Saints are viewed as a "legitimate contender" to acquire star wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones.
Adams informed the Raiders that he preferred to be traded on Tuesday, although no deal was imminent at the time (via NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo). He was ruled out of Las Vegas' Week 5 matchup with the Denver Broncos due to a hamstring injury.
The Saints have dropped their past two games after starting the season with a 2-0 record.
