Amid rumors about trade talks involving L'Jarius Sneed, one reason the 27-year-old is still with the Kansas City Chiefs is because of the contract an acquiring team would have to give him.
Per The Athletic's Nate Taylor, Sneed doesn't want to play on the franchise tag and is seeking a deal of either three or four years that would make him one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the NFL.
The Chiefs used the franchise tag to prevent Sneed from becoming a free agent. He is guaranteed $19.8 million in 2024 on the one-year tender.
