Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback told the team he can play in its Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons. However, he added that team doctors are taking a cautious approach.
ESPN's Brooke Pryor reported that Wilson will test his injured calf during pregame warm-ups and will "do everything possible to be ready."
If Wilson is unable to play, backup Justin Fields will get the start.
