The Washington Commanders reportedly weren't considering North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye with the No. 2 overall draft pick in this year's NFL draft.
"The two quarterbacks they had in consideration at No. 2 were Jayden Daniels and J.J. McCarthy," ESPN's Adam Schefter said Monday during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. "Maye wasn't going No. 2. He was going No. 3 to New England.
Washington ultimately chose Daniels, the defending Heisman Trophy winner out of LSU. And it was apparently an easy decision for the organization.
"We knew it was Jayden for a while, and it would've taken a lot for it to not be Jayden," general manager Adam Peters told reporters on Friday.
