Despite speculation the San Francisco 49ers could pursue Kirk Cousins if the Atlanta Falcons eventually released the veteran after benching him for Michael Penix Jr., they are reportedly "committed" to their current quarterback.
"They are committed to making Brock Purdy work in San Francisco," Dianna Russini of The Athletic said Tuesday on the Scoop City podcast (8:45 mark). "Could things change? Of course."
Purdy is under contract through the 2025 season and is in line for a significant raise when he signs his next deal.
