Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams sadly lost his mother in 2014 after a battle with breast cancer. Since October is breast cancer awareness month, the NFL allows players to wear pink accents and footwear all month long.
Williams, who holds his mother’s memory near and dear to his heart, reportedly requested to wear pink all season long in order to honor her. Unfortunately, the NFL denied Williams request according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
