New England Patriots cut TE Tim Wright

The New England Patriots roster turnover continues this offseason.

The newest member to be jettisoned from Foxboro is Tim Wright.

The Pats released the tight end on Thursday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the move.

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo first reported the news.

Bill Belichick traded for the 25-year-old tight end last August, shipping Logan Mankins to Tampa Bay for Wright and a fourth-round draft pick.

Wright is an athletic tight end who had just 26 receptions and 259 yards in 2014, but snagged six touchdowns.
