The Chicago Bears’ first padded training-camp practice of 2018 was off to a slow start. Rain, clouds and an intermittent breeze cloaked the field at Olivet Nazarene University on that Sunday morning in late July. The practice music had yet to crank up. The Bears’ pace was slow and steady. The crowd was wet and muted, waiting for some payoff for making the drive down to Bourbonnais, Ill.
