The Vikings have placed right tackle Andre Smith on injured reserve with a triceps injury, making Smith the fourth starter on offense to land on the list.
Smith is heading for surgery tomorrow, per coach Mike Zimmer. Smith refuted an NFL Network report from Friday that indicated an elbow injury was serious enough for injured reserve.
Minnesota worked out free agent offensive tackle Jake Long Monday, but it's unknown whether the former No. 1 overall pick will be signed. Long signed on with the Ravens in July, but then refused to sign an injury waiver, which made him a free agent again.
