Mike Shanahan’s name came up in conjunction with a few of the head coaching openings around the league this offseason, but he didn’t get any of them and will spend his second straight year out of the game in 2015.
Shanahan said Friday that his increased free time hasn’t led him to spend less time with the game of football, though. Shanahan said that he still studies “the heck” out of the game and that he thinks he studies “more football now than I actually did before” because he doesn’t have the other duties of a head coach taking up his time.
