SAN DIEGO — Mayor Kevin Faulconer says the NFL's rejection of the Chargers' plans to build a stadium in Carson gives both sides the opportunity for a fresh start in what has been a bruising saga in San Diego.
The Chargers walked away from talks with city and county leaders in June. While the NFL owners rejected their plans to build a stadium with the rival Raiders, they gave the Chargers the option to join the St. Louis Rams in Inglewood.
Faulconer says he left a message Wednesday for Chargers chairman Dean Spanos, who was traveling back from Houston.
