Marcus Peters Named 2015 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year: Details and Reaction

The Kansas City Chiefs won their final 10 games of the regular season and reached the postseason at 11-5 largely because their defense finished third in the league in points allowed per game.

Cornerback Marcus Peters was rewarded for his critical role in that defense Saturday with the 2015 Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award, as the NFL announced.

The Chiefs picked Peters with the 18th overall selection in the draft out of Washington, and he rewarded them with eight interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns, and a forced fumble.
