Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota is the NFL’s only unsigned first-round draft pick. But Mariota says that’s not a cause for concern in Tennessee.
Mariota told SiriusXM NFL Radio that he’s “not worried about it at all” and is confident his agent and the Titans will get everything ironed out.
“Obviously, it’s a business deal,” Mariota said. “It’s going to take some time. That’s why you hire your agent.”
Titans G.M. Ruston Webster has acknowledged that it’s possible that Mariota could miss a few days of training camp if the two sides can’t come to a deal, which suggests that the Titans and Mariota’s camp seem to be entrenched in their opposing views about whether or not Mariota’s deal will include offset language to protect the Titans in the event that he gets cut and then signs with another team during his first four years in the NFL.
