L.S.U. 19, Texas A&M 7: L.S.U.’s Miles Will Remain as Its Coach

BATON ROUGE, La. — Coach Les Miles is staying on at Louisiana State.

Leonard Fournette ran for 159 yards and a touchdown Saturday night, and L.S.U. beat Texas A&M, 19-7. After the game, Athletic Director Joe Alleva said that the embattled Miles would remain at the university.

At game’s end, the players lifted Miles on their shoulders and carried him down the field toward the student section as the crowd chanted “Keep Les Miles! Keep Les Miles!”

Derruis Guice had a 50-yard touchdown run and 75-yard kickoff return for L.S.U. (8-3, 5-3 Southeastern Conference), which ended a three-game skid that had raised questions about Miles’s job security.
