Louisiana Tech edge rusher Jaylon Ferguson had his combine invitation rescinded by the NFL after a background check revealed a simple battery charge, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday. Ferguson was involved in a 2016 fight at a McDonald's, according to the report, and also was cited for public intoxication in college. According to the report, the NFL told teams that any prospect with a felony or misdemeanor charge involving violence would be barred.
Ferguson, the 2018 Conference USA Player of the Year, led the nation with 17½ sacks en route to a NCAA-record 45 during his four years with the Bulldogs.
