Lions WR Jermaine Kearse Carted Off After Having Air Cast Applied to Leg Injury

Five plays into the Detroit Lions' first preseason game against the New England Patriots on Thursday night, wide receiver Jermaine Kearse was carted off the field.

According to The Athletic's Chris Burke, Kearse's lower leg was immediately covered by a towel, and an air cast was applied. The 29-year-old's injury happened while blocking for running back Toby Johnson. Patriots safety Terrence Brooks dove for Johnson but instead crashed into the back of Kearse's leg.
