The Detroit Lions stand virtually no chance of making the playoffs this season, and the team is wasting no time getting started on a total overhaul.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Lions have fired both team president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew on an "insane day in Detroit."

Mayhew had been with the Lions for 14 seasons and was given control of roster decisions more than five years ago.
