The NFL requires college juniors to declare whether they will give up their NCAA eligibility and enter the draft by mid-January. LSU coach Les Miles thinks that deadline should be pushed back.
Miles, who has had dozens of juniors leave school early to enter the draft, says it’s hard for him to find the time to sit down with each of them and discuss their future because the deadline typically comes just a couple weeks after LSU’s bowl game — or less, if LSU is in the national championship game.
“What you would like to do is have time with each player, be able to describe his situation,” Miles told the Dothan Eagle.
