Kyler Murray Enters N.F.L. Draft, Throwing Baseball Future Into Doubt

Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray announced Monday on Twitter that he is entering the N.F.L. draft.

It would be a thoroughly unremarkable development for a reigning Heisman Trophy winner like Murray — except last year Murray was drafted ninth overall in the Major League Baseball draft, and accepted a $4.66 million signing bonus with the Oakland Athletics under the expectation that this past season would be his last in a football uniform.

The he took the Oklahoma Sooners to the College Football Playoff and won the sport’s most prestigious individual award.
