Gary Kubiak thought his team didn’t show up ready for a productive practice Wednesday, so after the Broncos coach called the team together and decided to call for a total restart.
After watching what Kubiak later called “selfish” behavior that included several fights and other outbursts including Andre Caldwell slamming his helmet after dropping a pass, the new coach thought calling an extended timeout was the best way to get his players’ attention.
“We’re tired of each other and tired of working against each other,” Kubiak told reporters after practice. “But it’s kind of a good sign, too.
