Washington exploded offensively against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. And quite frankly, fantasy owners shouldn't care.
Yes, quarterback Kirk Cousins, running back Matt Jones and wideout Jamison Crowder each had huge games. But given their track record to this point, those performances felt like flukes rather than the start of new trends.
Coming into Sunday, for instance, Cousins had accumulated 20 or more fantasy points just twice on the season. Meanwhile, he posted five games of 12 fantasy points or less. Throwing for multiple touchdown passes and exceeding 300 passing yards won't change the fact that he has proved to be a quarterback who shouldn't even be owned except in deeper leagues.
