CANTON, Ohio — At a dinner and ceremony Thursday night as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction weekend, Sydney Seau received a standing ovation after Roger Goodell, the N.F.L. commissioner, presented her with a gift honoring her father, Junior, who will be inducted posthumously on Saturday.
Sydney Seau is expected to pay tribute to her father, one of the game’s most celebrated linebackers, in a brief on-stage interview, after the showing of an unusually long video featuring his bone-crushing tackles, acrobatic interceptions and signature fist pump. It was a concession made by the league after saying it would not allow her to make an introductory speech.
