Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh is "disappointed" in the NFL's decision to suspend safety Derwin James Jr. for one game for "repeated violations of playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players," with the capper being a tackle leading to helmet-to-helmet contact on Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth last Sunday.
"He genuinely does not want to hurt any other player and the film is Exhibit A," Harbaugh said Wednesday, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic.
"(The tackles) have been, in my opinion, as I've looked at the tape, exactly what you would want somebody (to do), what the league is trying to get to, which is take the head out of the game.
