New York Jets quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor reached out to Jordan Travis directly to offer words of encouragement, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Fowler reported Saturday on SportsCenter that Rodgers and Taylor told Travis they're "excited" to work with him.
Fowler also described the former Florida State star as a "long-term play" for the Jets, who "want to bring him along slowly" as he recovers from the leg injury that ended his 2023 season.
The Jets took a flier on Travis in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft.
Coming out of the draft, NFL insider Jordan Schultz cited an AFC North scout who said he has "got a real chance for sure" in terms of becoming the starter once Rodgers leaves.
