Jets Chairman Christopher Johnson Will Pay Players' Fines for Anthem Protests

After the NFL owners voted on an anthem policy requiring players to stand when on the field, Jets chairman Christopher Johnson said he will pay any fines for players who choose not to stand, according to Newsday.

The new rule gives players the option to stay in the locker room. For those on the field, they must stand and "show respect for the flag and Anthem." Teams will be fined for those who "do not show proper respect for the flag and anthem" and can choose to impose their own fines as well.

Johnson does not want his players to worry about the fines.
