Jesse Williams back at practice after kidney cancer surgery

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Jesse Williams returned to limited participation in training camp on Thursday after having a kidney removed this offseason after being diagnosed with kidney cancer.

The 2013 fifth-round draft pick was diagnosed with cancer in May and underwent surgery soon after to remove the problematic organ. He was cleared to begin working out a month later and has been slowly working his way back into shape.

“I came back to training pretty quick, so I sort of really didn’t drop off at all,” Williams said Thursday. “I mean my strength, like I said bounced back real quick, but the cardio and stuff like that takes a while.
