Even if quarterback Teddy Bridgewater isn’t willing to declare the team contenders just yet, there’s little doubt that the Vikings got better with the return of running back Adrian Peterson this week.
What’s better for the whole won’t be great for running back Jerick McKinnon’s chances at a big role in the offense, however. McKinnon showed well during his rookie season by running for 4.8 yards per carry in 11 games before a back injury ended his season and would have been in line for a starting role had Peterson remained out of the picture.
