The Jacksonville Jaguars are trading Calais Campbell to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a fifth-round pick, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. The Ravens will then sign Campbell to a new contract, worth up to $27 million with $20 million guaranteed over the next two years.
Campbell, the reigning Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, turns 34 in September. In three years in Jacksonville, he started all 51 regular-season and playoff games for the Jaguars. Though he is listed as a defensive end, Campbell is a giant of a man at 6-foot-8 and 300 pounds, and versatile enough to play on the interior defensive line as well.
