Injuries: Mathews (herniated disc) done for season

Ryan Mathews' season is over.

The Eagles running back suffered a herniated disc during Thursday's win over the Giants and will miss "significant time", according to coach Doug Pederson. He will not play in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Pederson added that Mathews injured himself during Philadelphia's late-third quarter goal-line turnover on downs. The back did not play in the fourth quarter, sidelined by a "stinger", and finished with 46 yards on 18 carries.

Darren Sproles and Byron Marshall are the only remaining running backs on the roster.
