LAKE FOREST – There is no debate that Kyle Long is one of the Chicago Bears best players.
But that is where the consensus seems to end.
How close Long has been to playing at his peak through the first seven games of this season depends on whose eyes you view his performance through.
He has made a number of blocks already this season that because of his unique blend of size, strength and athleticism he may be the only player on the team who could have made those plays.
He has also made some costly mistakes, both physical and mental, that we would never have expected to see prior to the spate of injuries that cost him the better part of the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
