Blaming the Bears’ loss Sunday to the Miami Dolphins on Matt Nagy’s decision to call three consecutive runs in overtime beginning at the Miami 41-yard line is undoubtedly rash in isolation.
After all, Vic Fangio’s vaunted ‘D’ permitted 31 points and 541 yards of offense to Brock Osweiler’s Dolphins, and Chicago cost itself somewhere between 6-14 points earlier in the game with a pair of red-zone turnovers.
Calling Nagy’s decision extremely uncharacteristic is reasonable, particularly when considering it’s the first time as a head coach that he's called three consecutive run plays to a back without gaining a first down in a game.
