No player is more synonymous with the building of the 1990s Cowboys dynasty than a player who wasn’t on those teams, Herschel Walker. It was trading Walker to Minnesota that brought Dallas a bounty of draft picks that helped them build the best team in the NFL, and Walker has some interesting thoughts on the way that trade went down.
Specifically, Walker says it was then-coach Jimmy Johnson, and not owner Jerry Jones, who made the smart decision to trade him.
“I think Jimmy Johnson was the reason that trade happened. I don’t think it was Jerry,” Walker said on the Dan Patrick Show.
