George R.R. Martin knows a thing or two about hyperbole.
The writer of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, which HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is based on, is known for his love of both the New York Jets and New York Giants despite the fact they’re supposed to be rivals. So as you can imagine, Martin had a rough week with the Jets losing to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday and the Giants taking a last-second loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.
He wrote about his feelings on his blog, and you really get the full effect from this snippet:
The victories were right there for the taking.
