New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith wasn’t happy to be standing on the sidelines as he watched Ryan Fitzpatrick lead the team to a 31-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns Sunday, and indicated what made it most frustrating is how he ended up there in the first place.
“I’m extremely [angry],” Smith said Wednesday from the Jets locker room, via SI.com. “But I have to keep my temper down. I can’t exhibit that in the locker room, I can’t exhibit that on a daily basis.”
Smith of course is out for at least several more weeks — perhaps even up to 10 — after undergoing surgery on his jaw, broken in a locker room altercation with then-teammate IK Enemkpali.
