Fred Davis' time with the New England Patriots lasted for all of a month, as they cut him on Friday, per the team's official Twitter account.
After being reinstated to the league after missing the entirety of the 2014 season due to a suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the Patriots signed him to a one-year deal in early May. He was expected to compete to be the team's third-string tight end, behind Rob Gronkowski and Scott Chandler.
Clearly, he didn't impress the team's coaching staff at this week's minicamp.
