Former 49ers RB Derek Loville Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison in Drug Case

Former NFL running back Derek Loville was sentenced to 15 months in prison Wednesday for his role in a drug distribution network.

According to Kristina Davis of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Loville was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.

While in court Wednesday, Loville said the following regarding his situation, per Davis: "I've lost a lot through all of this. First of all my respect."

The 48-year-old Loville was part of a gambling and drug-trafficking ring run by Owen Hanson called ODOG Enterprise.

Loville's attorney, Francisco Sanchez, said his client became addicted to painkillers and other drugs following his NFL career, which led to his involvement with Hanson.
