Federal judge declines to move Jameis Winston lawsuit to Tallahassee

One of the early skirmishes in the lawsuit filed against Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has resulted in a loss for the rookie quarterback.

Via David Newton of ESPN.com, U.S. District Judge Anne C. Conway ruled Thursday that the civil case filed by Erica Kinsman won’t be moved from Orlando to Tallahassee. The judge based the ruling in part on the fact that both parties live in Central Florida. She also ruled it would be less convenient for the witnesses to hold the case in Tallahassee.

Kinsman sued Winston based on a variety of legal theories arising from an alleged rape that occurred in December 2012.
