Construction projects often go over budget. But not usually by 50 percent.
That’s what has happened in Atlanta, where the projected cost of the team’s new stadium have increased from $1 billion to $1.5 billion.
The news came not through any formal announcement, but via comments from owner Arthur Blank during a panel discussion at the Rotary Club of Atlanta, per the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Blank referred to the project as a “1.5 billion stadium” during the panel discussion, and Blank confirmed after the panel discussion that, indeed, the stadium has increased once again in expense.
