LAKE FOREST — OLB Sam Acho has been in the Bears’ defense since Vic Fangio took over as coordinator in 2015, so he’s one of the veterans being counted on to build off the many accomplishments of last year’s group, which was ninth in points and 10th in yards allowed.
That unit is currently a bit short-handed since OLB Leonard Floyd, arguably the team’s best pass rusher, is recuperating from a broken hand. The hope is that Floyd might be able to play in Week One with a padded club on his injured hand, though he could be several weeks away from 100 percent effectiveness.
