Eric Weddle will attend Chargers minicamp

Chargers safety Eric Weddle’s absence from the team’s practices will come to an end on Tuesday.

Weddle’s agent David Canter announced on Monday that Weddle will report for the start of the team’s mandatory minicamp. General Manager Tom Telesco said last week that he expected Weddle to take part in this week’s activities and Weddle would have been subject to fines from the team had he failed to appear for work.

That hasn’t been the case for the rest of the team’s offseason work, which is voluntary and which Weddle has skipped as part of an effort to land a new contract from the team.
