Eric Reid joins San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick in boycotting National Anthem

Teammate Eric Reid joined Colin Kaepernick in his National Anthem boycott Thursday night in San Diego, taking a knee next to the quarterback who's been embroiled in controversy since remaining seated last week.

“It's not easy doing the unpopular thing, and I respect him that much more for doing that," Reid said this week, via abcnews7sanfrancisco.com.

Kaepernick, currently No. 2 on the 49ers depth chart, has vowed to continue sitting during the National Anthem until "significant changes" are made to issues in America including police brutality and oppression of minorities.

Now he has company from Reid, the 49ers' former first-round pick and starting free safety.
