Safety Eric Berry only played eight snaps for the Chiefs on Saturday night, but they meant a lot more than any other group of eight snaps taken around the NFL this weekend.
They were Berry’s first eight snaps since being diagnosed with lymphoma last year and marked a big step in his trip back to the field. Coach Andy Reid said that Berry was “out of control” in the locker room before the game because he was so excited to play and Berry said he “broke down” on the flight to Arizona as he thought about the game to come.
