Now that the extra point attempt has been pushed back to the 15-yard line, should NFL teams consider the two point conversion after touchdowns?
Prior to the start of the 2015 regular season, the NFL enacted a fairly radical rule change: All extra point attempts were moved from the 2-yard line to the 15-yard line, effectively making PATs a 33-yard field goal attempt.
Additionally, under the new rule defenses would be awarded two points if they blocked the PAT and returned the ball to the opponent’s end zone. Previously, game balls were ruled dead on blocked PATs.
