At the rate the Bears are going, Willie Gault and Marty Booker may need to make comebacks to fill out the receiving corps.
Eddie Royal sat out Wednesday’s practice with a hip injury, which means the team worked out without their projected top four receivers. Alshon Jeffery has been sidelined for a couple of weeks with a calf injury, Marquess Wilson has a hamstring injury and first-round pick Kevin White will be out into the regular season after surgery on a stress fracture in his shin.
Coach John Fox wasn’t sharing much information about Royal’s injury, which he called “kind of new” given Royal’s presence at practice on Tuesday.
