Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is going to pay for the funeral of a Texas high school football player who died after being shot March 9.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Hurts will cover the cost for Jarvon Coles' funeral.
Coles was identified after being found unresponsive with a gunshot wound at a party.
According to Troy Kless, Cheryl Mercedes and Lupita Villarreal of KHOU 11, the Harris County Sherriff's Office said the incident occurred around 11 p.m. local time on March 9.
Police were initially called to the scene as a welfare check in response to reports of underage drinking at a short-term rental property.
