Miami Dolphins star linebacker Bradley Chubb did his team a favor on Tuesday.
Per ESPN's Field Yates, Chubb agreed to a restructured contract that converted $13.75 million of his base salary into a signing bonus, creating an extra $11 million in salary cap space for the Dolphins.
The move provides some much-needed cap relief for Miami, which entered Tuesday with just $13.86 million in available cap space, per Over The Cap.
The Dolphins acquired Chubb from the Denver Broncos midway through the 2022 season. The six-year veteran had a strong season this past year, playing 16 games and racking up a career-high 73 total tackles with 11 sacks, six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
