Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome has said more than once this offseason that the team expects and needs more from safety Matt Elam, who hasn’t lived up to the team’s hopes since they made him a first-round pick in 2013.
There’s still work to do before the start of the season, but it seems that Elam has provided a positive early response to Newsome’s comments. Defensive coordinator Dean Pees raved about what he’s seen from Elam during the offseason workouts.
“Best camp he’s had, bar none. Not even close,” Pees said, via the team’s website.
