Former New York Giants running back David Wilson made his competitive debut in the triple jump Saturday at the Adidas Grand Prix, and the results were a bit mixed.
According to ESPN.com, Wilson managed 48 feet, 1 1/4 inches, which was roughly five feet worse than his personal best dating back to his college days. He finished ninth out of the nine triple-jumpers to participate.
Wilson admitted on Twitter that he's disappointed with the result but won't get too down since it's only his first pro event:
I'm not proud about my performance today but it was my first comp.
